DME Ladies and Gentlemen Tables

The new window displays are up and the DME staff is loving the theme, because it was inspired by them! Each table represents our fabulous ladies and gentlemen that make up the our incredible staff all while including the patriotic theme of this past weekend.

For our gentlemen's table, instead of using a floral centerpiece, we wanted to include items that are near and dear to our staff like their old trophies, childhood toys and of course beer.

Look at those American flag runners aren't they great! Instead of using one long runner across the farm table, we used four runners to create a personal place setting so that each person has their own individual flag. These awesome runners and napkins are from Pottery Barn!

The dinner plate sits on a cool leather charger with a place card attached to a glass buoy in the center of the plate which ties in the guys love of boating. A pilsner and mason jar are used for the boys to enjoy an ice cold Sam Adams Summer Ale.  The amazing farm table and place settings are courtesy of Rentals Unlimited.

Now for the DME ladies inspired table, simplicity is the key.

The classic yellow and white striped table linen is complemented by the navy napkins that hang over the edge of the table give the perfect accent color to the bold linen. Again the linen and place settings are from our friends at Rentals Unlimited!

The white anemone centerpiece sits on top of a cutting board with pewter crab handle,s surrounded by seashells which incorporate the ladies love of the beach and food. Sundae glasses filled with fresh berries and whip cream give the table a touch of red white and blue. The Gurgling Cod from Shreve, Crump and Low provides the ultimate contrast to the traditional water pitcher

Clear glass plates are placed on top of a dark rattan charger which gives the table texture and completes the overall look that the DME ladies love!

Stop by the Dana Markos Events studio to get a closer look at these incredible displays and let Daniel know you love them as much as we do! Great job Daniel!

Happy 4th of July!

Fourth of July is one of the best days of the summer. Everyone’s outside having a great time, dancing to their favorite music while decked out in our nation’s colors, devouring all the barbeque foods they can eat and ending the night with a beautiful firework display. However this year, the most patriotic holiday will be filled with rain and thunderstorms. Thanks a lot Mother Nature!!

Even though the day is predicted to be dark and gloomy don’t let it put a damper on your Fourth of July festivities just bring the partying indoors.  Although barbeque just doesn’t taste the same without the grill, here are some really great ideas that we love for an indoor 4th of July barbeque.

Food
Here are two great ways to have hamburgers and hotdogs without having to brave the storm and cook on the grill, all you need to use is the oven.

Cheeseburger Sliders

Crescent Dogs

Drinks
Making your own drinks are a great twist to the normal canned drinks that you see at an outdoor barbeque. These drinks are easy to make and even fit with the color scheme!

Layered Drinks (Kid Friendly)

Red, White, and Blue Sangria (For the Adults)

Desserts
These dessert look too good to eat!

Fruit flag

Patriotic cupcakes

Chocolate Covered Oreos

Decorations

Summer of Color

After a long, bitter, snow filled winter and what seemed like a short lived spring, summer has officially arrived and it was long overdue, especially for those who live in the New England area. Along with numerous beach days, family trips and backyard barbeques comes the busiest event season of the year! Whether it’s celebrating the union of a loving couple, the new beginning of a recent graduate, a new addition to a family or the most patriotic day of the year, there is always something taking place every weekend of the summer.

One of the biggest event trends this year, which will never go out of style in my opinion, is the use of bright colors. Using bright colors is a great way to liven up a space and looks even better in the summer sun! Color can be used within different aspects of an event whether it’s included in the invitations, linen, event space, flowers, or even the food.

What better way to kick of the color filled season than with a blue and hot pink themed graduation party.

Who would have thought that a tent and those chiavari chairs could come in such magnificent colors? This bright blue tent was lined with pink and white paper lanterns which kept along with the color scheme down below.

Chevron is another popular trend this season. Using a patterned table runner instead of a solid colored runner helps break up the color scheme without it becoming overwhelming.

Another great way to add color to an event is by incorporating it in the food.

If the using colored fabrics and décor may be too much color for you, using bright color flowers can also have the same effect of livening up a room. For a wedding at the  Lyman Estate Bride and Groom Kirsten and Evan chose an elegant and classic color scheme for their décor, which complemented the historically estate, while using flowers, lanterns and water glasses to give a touch of color to the spacious tent.

Our incredible team here at DME did an amazing job incorporating the elegance of the venue within the floral arrangements. The center pieces for this wedding varied in sizes for each table giving the tent a unique atmosphere.

This beautiful mantel piece arrangement filled with coral, and blush peonies, white hydrangeas, lilac, yellow ranunculus gave the ornate white fireplace a splash of color against the grey walls.

These small arrangements in vintage glasses provide several different color schemes to the elegant table scape. Adding several small centerpieces to a head table instead of a large arrangement provides more space for guests to sit and interact with each other.

We here at Dana Markos Events are very excited for our action packed summer and we can not wait to see what this event season has in store for us.
